What i’m all about
Hi, I'm Sophie Starck, a filmmaker and photographer currently studying at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I'm passionate about capturing real-world experiences and documenting underrepresented stories, and I enjoy creating short-form media that is relatable and evokes emotion.
My interest in filmmaking began in elementary school with just a camcorder, and since then I've had the opportunity to major in Film and TV production, taking classes on a plethora of roles in the film industry, learning from professionals, and completing an international documentary program in Bonn, Germany. Through these experiences, I've developed skills in pre-production, working on set, and team management while learning the importance of digesting feedback, group brainstorming, and the proper camera settings per the environment.
I'm especially drawn to documentary, event videography, and short-form media because these styles work directly as ways to preserve memories and creatively promote projects. Whether I'm directing, editing, writing, or behind the camera, my goal is always to create authentic work that viewers can see themselves in.

Collaborated closely with Loyola Marymount University marketing strategy professionals to align video content with Admissions Social Media’s campaign goals. Recorded high-quality events, b-roll, and interviews to create engaging multimedia content. Edited videos using DaVinci Resolve Studio, ensuring polished and professional final products.
